Columbus: Turco has three in Amadevil Stakes

Email

Looking for his third straight stakes win, Reach One More should rule an overwhelming favorite when he heads a field of five older Nebraska-breds in the $15,000-added Amadevil Stakes on Saturday at Columbus.

Reach One More has returned to his top form for trainer Chuck Turco. He comes into the race off a strong two-length win over Bach’s Homebrew in the Who Doctor Who Handicap at Horsemen’s Park on July 13. Prior to that, he drew off by six lengths in the HBPA Stakes going a mile and 70 yards at Lincoln Race Course on July 4. A winner of 13 races from 21 career starts, Reach One More will have Jake Olesiak aboard.

Turco sends out three of the entrants in the Amadevil, and all will race as separate interests. Also running under Turco’s care are From the Ashes and Buffalo Creek Hawk.

From the Ashes was claimed back by his connections for $10,000 in his last start, which came at Horsemen’s Park on July 14. He has a pair of wins this year from seven starts.

Buffalo Creek Hawk has won 4 of his 7 starts this year while running in claiming and optional claiming company.

Completing the field are Bingosablumin for trainer Larry Staroscik and Legends Pfool from the barn of Sue Wiley. Legends Pfool was third in the Who Doctor Who Handicap, and Bingosablumin was fourth in that same race.
