Columbus: Thoughtuwasatoad favored

Thoughtuwasatoad, a 7 1/2-length winner of the Capital City Futurity at Lincoln last month, should rule a solid favorite when he faces seven others, including his stablemate, in the $10,000 Club House Special for 2-year-olds going six furlongs.

Thoughtuwasatoad won his maiden at Lincoln in his second career start, drawing off by 4 1/2 lengths against maiden company in Nebraska's first 2-year-old race of the season. He returned in the Capital City, then shipped to Prairie Meadows, where he showed speed before fading to third against allowance company. Thought-uwasatoad is coupled in the wagering with the filly Silver Angel. R.D. Williams is named on both horses.

Skwhirl, trained by Bob Rising, won the State Fair Futurity for Nebraska-breds at Lincoln on July 17 and can rate off the pace in a field filled with mostly front-running winners of their maiden races. Yuri Yaranga has the mount.

Joe Thomas will ship up Kelly Carson off her win in the Anthony Fair Thoroughbred Futurity in Kansas, with Armando Martinez named to ride.
