Columbus: King Tymatt short price in futurity

The $12,500-added Columbus Futurity for for Nebraska-bred 2-year-old colts and geldings drew a field of only five. The Columbus Debutante, for Nebraska-bred fillies, drew just three entries and was canceled on Thursday morning. The Futurity is race 3 on an 8 race program that gets under way at 6:30 p.m.

King Tymatt is the lone winner in the six-furlong Futurity, and because he is expected to be an extremely heavy favorite, show wagering on the race has been canceled.

King Tymatt will be joined by stablemate Pats High Life as part of an uncoupled entry for trainer David Anderson.

King Tymatt made his career debut in the State Fair Futurity at Lincoln on June 28 and finished third. He returned in the Capital City Futurity and ran fourth, then won his Columbus debut against maidens by 11 lengths as the 3-5 favorite. Apprentice Chris Fackler will once again be aboard.

Pats High Life made his career debut here on Aug. 14, running third, and is the most likely candidate to complete the exacta in this short field. Damon Leeds will be aboard for a return mount.
