Sensible Lady ran down pacesetter Kitten Love in deep stretch to collect her second stakes win of the season in Saturday night’s $50,000 Buckland at Colonial Downs.
Racing over a turf course rated good, the 3-year-old Sensible Lady ($5.20), who beat older fillies and mares in The Very One at Pimlico a month ago, stalked the early pace in fourth under jockey Xavier Perez. She made a four-wide move coming into the stretch, rallied to get within a half-length of the leader in midstretch, and drew clear to win by 1 1/4 lengths. She completed the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:03.67.
Kitten Love, a 14-1 shot who was claimed for $16,000 in December, held well for second, two lengths in front of third-place Lady of Greatness.
A Maryland-based daughter of Street Sense trained by Tim Salzman for Three Lyons Racing, Sensible Lady has now won 5 of 10 starts and $154,340.

DRINK OR SINK went too fast on the lead last time before fading on the turf at Tampa, and should be less aggressive here with blinkers off. Olguin was aboard for his good fall races on the Poly, and should have him closing at a square price in his second start of the year. GOOD BETTER BEST finished up the track behind two next-out winners when he tried the dirt for the first time March 30 at Gulfstream. He hasn't faced this easy a field in a while, and is no stranger to filling out the exactor.
