Coady, founded photo agency, dies

Jack Coady Sr., who founded Coady Photography at Turf Paradise in 1962, died of cancer in Glendale, Ariz., on Monday at age 80. CCoady Photography, which today is operated by his sons, Jack and Jeff Coady, provides photographic services at 17 racetracks across the country.

Coady became a photographer for the Arizona Republic and Phoeniz Gazette newspapers after moving to Scottsdale, Ariz. from California in 1949. He also was a freelance photographer for Life and Time magazines.

A service is scheduled for 6 p.m. Friday at the Heritage Funeral Chapel in Peoria, Ariz. A funeral Mass will be held at 6:30 p.m Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Glendale.

In place of flowers, the family requested that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
