Race 2

Coupled with Spa City Fever; you have to go back a long ways to find that last win (2011) and in his last 12 starts he has just 3 2nds; that being said, he showed this past winter he's capable of some big things and Jacobson saw fit to claim him for a hefty $62,500 at BEL May 25; first start for Jake wasn't too hot but he's been freshened since and it's encouraging he does not return for a tag; but geez could he have worked any slower than he did here Aug. 13 (4fs in :54.80B, slowest of 24 that day), hmmmm?
N. F.'s Destiny
Continues his sharp form; just failed to beat today's foe Night Maneuver at BEL June 22 and that guy came right back to win again; been freshened since and stylewise you pretty much know what to expect; all that being said, it's a step up in class to be sure as he's facing some legit stakes types so he'll likely need all his best to be in the thick of it - though that's by no means out of reach.
The Lumber Guy
2 superb races last summer/fall (1st in G1 Vosburgh, 2nd in G1 BC Sprint) tabbed him a potential bigshot in the sprint division this year; alas, 2 outings at SA this winter weren't very pretty and he hasn't been seen in 6 months; well, they've brought him back to NY and reunited him with Hushion and maybe that can get him back on track; has fired fresh before and after nothing but G1s and G2s the past 16 months or so he figures to appreciate the drop, too; then again, you always wonder if they'll get back to their best after being gone so long, don't you?
Even Got Quiet
LIke his progress; was sidelined over a year and first 2 outings weren't bad before he moved forward nicely to beat optional claiming NY-breds here Aug. 10; even so, while that earned him a career-top Beyer (84) it leaves him well behind most of these; of course, he could have more improvement to show, but he'll surely need such a leap forward if he's to run with these.
Night Maneuver
Edged 'Destiny at BEL June 22, was claimed and came here and looked super blasting a nice bunch July 20; the Beyer came back superb, too (105); that makes him 2 for 3 here so apparently he likes this place and it now looks as though Contessa bought at the right time; strong works since say he holds his edge; plenty scary again.
Spa City Fever
Coupled with Socialsaul; big win at BEL going a mile May 23 off the claim by Jacobson to then earn a stakes shot at BEL June 1; however, he dueled and gave way in the Commentator and hasn't been seen since; maybe the freshening can get him back on track, though his last 2 tries off a freshening weren't his best; can pop up on occasion with a big effort, as he showed May 23, but he'll need one of those if he's to compete here.
Big win on the inner last Dec. 16 that earned him a 100 Beyer shows he's got some oomph; trouble is, while his form prior and since has been very nice he hasn't come close to approaching that big again so could it be that was the exception and not the rule?; quite possibly; at least has speed and versatility and maybe he can get back to that type of performance level with the return to dirt after 2 turf races and a mud start after a lengthy layoff.

Race 3

Crackerjack Jones
Hung wide in the debut or we could be looking at an unbeaten; show horse in last took a $14K optional, 7th finisher took an N1X here and three others ran in the money; 3 clear in last and he showed a new wrinkle coming from a bit off the pace; rail only 2 for 40 at this distance this meet but the blood is there as this guy is kin to Grade 3 winner and near $450K earner Khancord Kid; too sharp to ignore.
Dehere of the Cat
Bothered at the wrong distance in only off effort this year; he does have a tendency to run into some problems at the break and that must be addressed as to what price one will take; gelding handles any kind of going, will likely be in the picture late if all.
Driven by Solar
Blinks on today as they were for his first 4 races; he took them off and won in 5th start; agile enough to overcome trouble at this very level two back, a repeat of that effort makes him a handful here; expect much better effort.
Pro has been in some very good barns and he has won his share in a solid career; if you figure he was just dead short in last then a move forward could be in the offing; 4th finisher in the FL finale took a $20K optional next out, then was out of the money in a stakes; show horse 5/27 took an allowance at FL, lost next 3; place horse 5/27 won an allowance, the was 2nd beaten over 4 in a state-bred $50K stakes; look fo rider to send and try to steal it.
Ground Force
Repeatedly proven fresh, and he's best when sent along; show horse in the last win cashed next out but it was on the drop into a $5K claimer; all the wins have come wire-to-wire; if he doesn't get the lead, then what?
Back at the claimed level, the back class is there but he has been in a funk; winner of the LRL finale cashed next out in a $40K optional, was then 0 for 2; may need a drop to be more effective.
Coaltown Legend
Proven locally and he has had a penchant for finding the wire over the years; 5/12 place horse took a $30K optional, then was out of the money twice; winner 5/12 won at this level next, then lost a pair; renewed energy in the drill last weekend; backers have to hope they go bonkers up front and he race falls apart.

Race 4

Hamme Dancer
Sire wins with approximately 7% of his turf starters and dam won once form 17 starts for 53k, including 0-for-1 over turf; he's going to need to produce his best performance to date in his turf debut if he's to contend.
Lido Palace has been a poor influence as a turf sire and this gelding is going to need to perform better than he did in his first start against winners in his latest outing in order to threaten these; it might be worth noting the presence of Castellano aboard another in here.
Bashful Bandit
This colt ran well the first two times he raced over turf and perhaps he can improve over what he's shown in his two most recent turf attempts while making his first start after a claim for a barn that scores well in that category; Ortiz gets his share of live calls from this outfit.
Song of Aspen
Not wild about what this colt has shown in his four turf starts and he seems to be better off at distances shorter than today's one mile assignment; late running type looks like more of an outsider.
Nelson Avenue
If he can find his way back to one of his better performances he can make some noise in this spot, but it's tough to have any confidence in him when seeing what he's been doing lately; prefer to give the nod to others in this one.
Unbridled Logic
His form improved with the addition of blinkers a number of starts back and like to see what he did in his latest outing while making only his second start over turf; Repole-owned gelding looks like he fits right in with this bunch.
Pyro City
After a sub par performance two races ago, he bounced back with an effort that is more the norm for him in his latest outing, and feel that level of performance is good enough to get him into the mix against these; it certainly doesn't hurt him to have John V. aboard again.
Yo Blue
Four-time winner has won three of six over turf and he has every bit the look of a top contender against this group of 25k claimers; however, he does appear to be a need-the-lead type and he might not care for the early speed that he sees from Coach A.J.
Coach A. J.
Speedy gelding shows up for a barn that has had a quiet meeting but like the idea of him dropping in class for his first start since April; third place finisher from latest returned to win next out at Bel on 5/31 going 1 1/16m over turf vs. N2L alw. rivals with a 91 Beyer.
Drum Roll
Grade 3 stakes placed colt jogged in his first start for owner Todd Pletcher in his latest outing and this will be a favorable spot to go after two straight wins if this race has to be moved to the main track; note the addition of blinkers last time; first call for Velazquez.
It's going to be tough to look past Drum Roll if this race gets moved to the main track, but this colt is coming off of the sharpest performance of his career, and he is making his first start for Ramsey and Maker; runner up from latest won next out here on 8/17 going 6f vs. 20k MCL's with a 54 Beyer.

Race 5

Maybrys Challenge
Sire G3 sprint SW (322K, 1-5 at 2, 0-4 on turf, 2-4 with 2yo FTS, 1-4 first-turf); 1st starter from turf SW dam (124K, 0-2 at 2, 3-8 turf); dam 1/2 G2 sprint SW Ventana (383K, 1-5 at 2, won debut, 0-1 turf); barn 1-4 (25%, $3.60 ROI) past 5 years 2yo FTS SMSW turf sprint Spa; 8/5 work matches Pure Amour (78 turf Beyer); intriguing.
Momma's Mark
1/2 turf SP Image of Noon (89K, 0-2 at 2) by G3 sprint SW (354K, 1-2 at 2, 0-6 with 2yos, 0-1 with 1st-turfers); dam won turf (33K, 0-1 at 2, 1st-turf winner) with 3 wnnrs/4 rnnrs (2-4 with 2yos, 2-2 turf); dam full SW sprinter To Marquet (198K, 1-4 at 2, 0-5 turf); barn 1-1, $10.80 pst 5 yrs 2nd-out 2yos dirt/turf SMSW sprint Spa; has turf pedigree.
Ziggy the Great
65K yearling; sire 10% 2yo FTS, 9% 1st-turf; 1st starter from SP dam (148K, 1-4 at 2, 1-10 turf); 3rd dam SP sprinter Mintullah (27K); barn 1-6 (17%, $2.06 ROI) past 5 years 2yo FTS MSW turf sprint; 4 works match So Lonesome (1st FTS SMSW dirt 63 Beyer 8/19); 6 works match Hotspur Harriet (5th FTS 30k MCL dirt 30 Beyer DEL 7/31)
Harbor King
37K RNA 2yo after 1F work 10.2; sire 21-176 (12%) 2yo FTS, 7-130 (5%) 1st-turf; unplaced dam (0-4 turf) has 0 winners from 1 runner (0-1 with 2yos); dam 1/2 multiple SP turf sprinter Life Lesson (153K, 0-2 at 2, 2-12 turf, 1st-turf winner); barn 0-9 past 5 years FTS.
Push Ups
Sire 3-16 (19%) 2yo FTS, 0-16 with 1st-turfers; unraced dam has 3 winners from 5 runners (2-3 with 2yos, 0-2 with turfers); female family multiple SW Jazzy One (249K, 1-2 at 2, 0-1 turf); barn 1-10 (10%, $2.56 ROI) past 5 years 2yo FTS.
Pete's Fleet
9K RNA yearling; sire 15-160 (9%) 2yo FTS, 10-163 (6%) 1st-turf; dam placed turf (11K, 0-1 at 2, 0-4 turf) with 0 winners from 2 runners (0-1 with 2yos, 0-1 with turfers); dam 1/2 G3 SW Nonies Dancer Ali (165K, 2-3 at 2, won debut, 0-3 turf), G2 route SW Regal Sanction (485K, 0-5 at 2, 0-5 turf); barn 0-10 past 5 years 2yo FTS turf
Sire 44-190 (23%) 2yos, 36-189 (19%) turf; 1st starter from unplaced dam (0-1 at 2); female family 2yo SP Rebecca's Gal (198K, 1-5 at 2, 0-6 turf); barn 7-15 (47%, $4.25 ROI) past 5 years 2nd-out 2yos MSW turf sprint; tired in open heat that produced next-out 69 Beyer graduate Marvin's Miracle; respect his speed.
Metropolitan Storm
Sire 88-611 (14%) 2yos, 29-218 (13%) 1st-turf; 1st starter from winning dam (203K, 0-3 at 2, 0-1 turf); 3rd dam multiple SW Kitty Tatch (233K, 8-23 turf); barn 4-116 (3%, $0.56 ROI) past 5 years 2yos; sire gets some good turfers.
Sire 88-611 (14%) 2yos, 29-218 (13%) 1st-turf; unplaced dam (0-4 at 2) has 2 winners from 3 runners (0-3 with 2yos, 0-2 with turfers; female family multiple SW Christina Czarina (293K, 2-5 at 2, 0-3 turf); barn 1-3 (33%, $4.06 ROI) past 5 years 2nd-out 2yos dirt/turf SMSW sprints Spa; broke poorly in slop; too early to give up on just yet.

Race 6

Streets of Fire
Adds blinkers after tiring at various distances this summer; he displayed decent speed from the fence when negotiating a mile 3 races back and the cutback to seven furlongs may prove a favorable fit; generous odds are certain.
Narrowly outfinished by El Dreamer in their last match-up, he can easily turn the tables here because of the equipment change and weight shift; faced an above average group 2 starts back at Churchill and lands into modest field here where he can be a major pace force.
Tries claimers for the first time and is meeting nothing special today; sired by sprint champion Midnight Lute who won 2.69 million overall; the dam won 4 of 21 and 438K; among the winning siblings is 43K earner Soldero; should upgrade against this lot.
Acro's Game
Has yet to finish in the money and a sudden turnaround does not seem in the cards; has shown little in the way of early speed or closing ability; best effort by far was over the turf; pass until further notice.
Volatile Markets
Ignore the last run over the lawn, he returns to the proper surface and races for a tag for the first time; set fairly good fractions in the route attempt in April and can be among the first flight today with a clean getaway.
Keeps earning minor checks and he lost significant ground in the last try at the course and distance; decent showing 2 back when rallying belatedly stamps him as a trifecta threat today regardless of how the pace unfolds; maintains top-notch rider.
Seriously Sharp
Certainly improved in the last performance and the switch in surfaces can do wonders; his sire scored at the G1 level, amassing 1.76 million; the dam went zero for 3; sib to several multiple winners including 176K earner Mojodajo.
Joey N
Inherited the genes of the dam, Foggia, who was 3 for 6 over a wet track, as he ran a personal best in the last attempt at the course and distance; draws a good stalking post here and he warrants inclusion as he is a proven entity at seven-eighths.
Herd Mentality
Set a soft tempo at Monmouth before fading in his first try around 2 turns; the latest workout at the shore indicates readiness and the race on 6/1 turned out to be a key affair; should benefit by the pedestrian pace that seems in store today.
El Dreamer
A fine effort over an off-track recently but he remains hard to endorse as the one to key on top because of the lengthy maiden status; outermost post helps his cause but he finishes underneath far too often; worth some play in exotic wagering approach.

Race 7

Bonnie Rose
Drops off a weak try first time on the local lawn and now she'll move to the fence for a barn that does ok second off the break; lack of lick doesn't figure to help her from this starting slot as the long run to the turn could bury her if she's not hustled; still, she did show a little bit of a ability on the green out of town earlier this year and her returning pilot has done some nice things of late.
Melody Lin
Barn hasn't had much luck at the local stand, but this gal was one of their 2 winners over a heavy course a couple of weeks back; first part of the coupling will return at the level of that score and she has proven she can handle firm footing as well; there does look to be some pace in here, but she's a deep closer drawn inside in a bulky field and that in itself can pose problems; still, she's a contender.
Queenie's Gold
Took all the money while stretching out 8 panels further than the trip of her Arlington maiden score when shipped to Mountaineer last time and after opening up a big early advantage, had little left to fend off the eventual money finishers; she'll try conditioned claimers in her local debut while getting a rider upgrade and she should have some bottom for the cut back to this trip; tactical foot should help her sit a good spot in here; consider.
Silver Silence
Wasn't beaten much behind Melody Lin over the heavy course here last time; gray's initial local spin over dry ground behind some of these wasn't much, though, and the barn hasn't had any luck with its limited starters at the stand; have to side with others on the win end.
Group Therapy
Statebred didn't do much sprinting on the main track in her first with winners and now she'll get back on the green; her first 2 sod spins were pretty weak and she's just one of several who figure to provide some early foot in this heat; nice to see a top pilot take interest, but don't think she'll be around at the finish.
Casual Elegance
Tired after tracking the pacesetters from a wide spot in her first local crack off 2 1/2 months on the shelf and should be better with that one behind her; drop to this level can also help and Rosario does choose to stick with her; barn has had a rough go of things at the stand, but this gal may be set for an improved effort at a decent price; giving her the upset nod.
Offered a solid late run when second at the level on opening weekend in a heat dominated by the short priced, front running winner; filly should be tighter with that return from the 5 month break behind her and the barn has come here to run, but if she's taken back so far again a minor award may prove to be her ceiling in here as well.
She'll move in to face a much easier bunch than she caught when drawing towards the outside here earlier in the month; filly owns some nice efforts on out of town courses and maybe the class relief will be what she needs to get back to them.
New York bred has been right there in midstretch of each of her last 2 cracks against conditioned claimers including opening a nice margin when shades were added most recently over a heavy local course; her early foot could again have her up with the pacesetters from the bell and she did break her maiden here last summer.
Sands of Humor
Barn's other half earned the field's highest last out number in beating cheap downstate maidens at odds on; she'll tackle winners for the initial time off their claim and they hit at a pretty nice clip with them first time back; there's long run to the turn here so maybe she's able to secure a good tracking spot without getting too far out in the course and she has had plenty of time to get re-acquainted with the local surroundings; big effort here last summer points her out as a dangerous repeat threat.
Draws outside for her first crack on the lawn since her debut effort here over a year ago; filly wasn't very good sprinting on the dirt in her first start in 9 months but that has turned out to be a pretty productive heat; neither the sire, dam nor this gal's lone sib to race won on the green, however, and now she'll try open company while in for a tag for the first time.
Another Page
MTO tries conditioned claimers after failing against fellow statebreds in her first start on the lawn; maybe the return to dirt would help and she was a pretty solid dirt miler earlier this year; she does boast a nice wet track pedigree and though she's tailed off of late deserves a good look if this comes off.
Rock Show
MTO is another who will look to switch surfaces if this comes off; maiden win came in a downstate off the turfer, but there wasn't a lot of moisture in the track that day; will need to step things up quite a bit to contend if the rains come.

Race 8

La Bella Valeria
Rematch vs. Barrel of Joy and Karakorum Elektra; was defeated by both of those rivals in last receiving a 2-pound positive weight swing from the winner for this; off-the-pace type may have been close to the lead in last when outfinished; have her ranked a notch below the top contenders.
Nice Stuff
Exits a career-best Beyer speed figure when finishing 2nd best on today's SAR turf at the distance of this event; the last time shooting this high in class was 3 back finishing last vs. Barrel of Joy and the winner and runner-up who Beyered 83-79 in next-out BEL-100K stakes and optional-claiming wins.
Double the Energy
7 wins and 8 exacta finishes but in her 8 other races she didn't hit the board; all-or-nothing type exits a last-place finish when catching a less-than-firm SAR-turf course; was no match last summer for Nice Stuff who breaks right inside of her today; must show more.
Rakin' Gold
Gets a 2-pound weight break from Karakorum Elektra; 2-back winner on the lead but did not make the front in last then called it a day soon after; new rider for this; hasn't shown anything but on BEL green; view as a pace presence for part.
Elusive Rumour
Class relief off 5 straight stakes including a Grade 2; has never raced shorter than 1 Mile on turf and cuts back to her shortest-distance test since January, 2012; 24%-winning fresh trainer noting her 2-back off-the-bench stakes fresh loss was her not her best effort then fired better 2nd time off the bench.
Barrel of Joy
Solid race when cutting back to 5.5F; she was outfinished for the win by Karakorum Elektra but gets a positive 2-pound weight swing off the less-than1-length loss; her last win was on less-than-firm footing which would move her way up; the 2-back runner-up finisher Beyered 77 in a next-out SAR-optional-claiming win; seems the one to beat if can repeat latest.
Both turf wins on SAR sod at today's distance rallying like a wild horse; last turf start saw her defeated by Pegasus Diamond who also beat her on dirt 2-back; career-best Beyer was posted on less-than-firm turf; exits a lot tougher event when no match for the runner-up finisher who Beyered 84 in a next-out SAR-100K stakes win; the 3-back winner repeated with an 80 speed figure taking a BEL-optional claimer then made it 3 in a row in a FL-50K stakes with a 77 speed figure.
Try to catch me; she exits a career-best Beyer gate-to-wire on SAR turf defeating the show runner who posted a 77 speed figure in her next-out SAR alw. victory; beat the 2-back show runner who Beyered 71 in her next-out PEN alw. win; 2 of her 3 win riders land on Elusive Rumour and Barrelof Joy for this; all 3 wins on the lead at today's distance including the maiden-breaker at SAR on less-than firm turf.
Karakorum Elektra
Beaten-betting choice last time in with 123 pounds October, 2011; Subtle will be flying early and may get pressed for the front so her late kick should be setup nicely again; scored 1st off the claim defeating several of these but gives many of those runners she just beat 2 extra pounds for the rematch.
Pegasus Diamond
Makes her 1st grass start since October a 10th-place finish in a BEL-25K maiden claimer; 0-for-10 on turf with just 1 exacta finish her record does not add to the appeal off the dull-mud effort at FL; wet-main tracks are usually her best surface posting a career-best Beyer on that type of oval including the 3-back win.
Ah Gaga
Back on turf for the 1st time since December; she has never raced this short of a distance during career; seeks her 3rd win in a row but has 50 days since last dirt gate-to-wire score; beat the 2-back runner-up finisher who Beyered 52 in a next-out BEL-MSW win; Subtle seems a dangerous frontrunner as she showed new-found sharp gate speed in last 2 BEL dirt races.
Sentimental Lass
Main Track only entry goes from a stakes loss into a race where she can be claimed from; been at her very best on BEL dirt scoring co-Beyer-career Tops on wet and fast main tracks; posted her career-debut exacta finish in 2010 on SAR dirt at 6F finishing 2nd in a MSW event.
Lenders Way
0-for-13 on fast tracks and 2-for-7 on wet which is why latest was especially disappoitning getting a muddy oval then not showing anything; BEL-mud produced a career-best Beyer; handled by Jitney and La Bella Valeria the last time on a fast-main track.
Fiftyfour Forever
The 10 minor awards in the Lifetime record box leaps off the form at you; has more than 4 lengths to make up on Bird House who follows her here off latest SAR fast-dirt start; the 2-back winner, runner-up and show finishers Beyered 75-70-63 in next-out optional-claiming wins.
Bird House
Loved the blinkers on for the 1st time in last overcoming being bumped at the break to draw away from Fifityfour Forever with ease scoring in her 1st-ever SAR dirt start; latest comes off a career-low Beyer but responded so strongly with the new hood that she has every chance to repeat.

Race 9

Race 10

Dance to Bristol
She's been on quite a run lately and this filly has only finished worse than second one time from 17 career starts; she enters this race off of back-to-back graded stakes victories and she really had to earn it in her latest outing off of a little bit of a tricky trip; she commands plenty of respect in her first attempt at a G1 score.
She was last seen recording a stakes win, and have to respect the fact that her connections see fit to sign her up for this, but in order to contend she is going to need to be ready to take her game to another level while making her graded stakes debut in a tough G1.
Classic Point
She's been very sharp lately but it's difficult to give her the nod over Dance to Bristol after squandering a golden opportunity in her latest outing, and this is a filly who appears to be more comfortable at distances shorter than today's seven-furlong assignment.
Street Girl
Her career best performance was run over a sloppy surface at Calder, something to consider if rain hits the ground, but her overall form has not been strong enough to suggest that she can get the better of a field of this caliber; it is interesting to see her connections shipping up for this, and her latest workout attracts the eye.
Book Review
She's one of two Grade 1 winners signed on in this spot and she's another in here who rarely runs a bad race; she seems to love today's seven-furlong distance and like to see that she's run well in two of three starts over the main track here; Bejarano has won with 19 of 79 (24%) mounts for Baffert in 2013.
Starship Truffles
She was last seen recoding a Grade 1 win and she was impressive that day when breaking alertly and making a decisive move approaching the top of the stretch; fourth-place finisher from that race, Holiday Soiree, returned to win next out here on 8/5 going 6f in a 98k stakes with a 96 Beyer; note the success that Saez has had riding for this barn.
Moment in Dixie
Multiple stakes placed miss might be ready to give a good account of herself after a sharp score over the main track here at today's distance, but this is an extremely tough step up in class for her, and she's obviously going to need an effort that is much stronger than anything she's done to this point in time if she's to get the job done.
Judy the Beauty
Despite the fact that she's three-for-three on synthetic, and still seeking her first dirt win, she seems to be at her best racing over dirt; she really ran well to be second in her latest outing when finishing behind today's rival Starship Truffles as a poor start and a tough outside trip made things very difficult for her; Rosario has won with 20 of 65 (31%) mounts for this barn in 2013.
Glorious View
Have to respect the four-race win streak she went on between February and May, including a G2 score two starts ago, but she isn't entering this race off of one of her sharper performances, and she can't afford anything less than a top try against these; prefer to look toward others.
Fantasy of Flight
Turf-to-dirt mover carries multiple graded stakes placed credentials with her and she might be looking to go as fast and as far as she can while making her first start wearing blinkers; her recent workouts look sharp and she's not without her share of appeal at a price.
Sure Route (GB)
This has to be considered an extremely difficult test for this mare to make her first start for a new barn after a 100k claim; her overall form has been solid, and she benefits from the services of Castellano, but she has the look of an outsider.
Ella's Kitten
He lost in some small fields to kick off the career; colt bobbled the other time at this level and maybe he needed the last effort; he has a right to mature with grace as full bro Empire Builder took 3 stakes, won thrice on grass, banked over $200K; looms clever claim.
Only one off effort and that was when the race came off the grass; the 2nd and 5th finishers in last took MSW races at DMR and here with 81 and 84 Beyers respectively; backers can point to fact kin Covert Ops did win on grass once; he's coming around quickly.
Improving, over 4 clear and very dangerous here; 5/25 winner was put up in the restricted $100K Curlin here the end of July and is eyeing Travers this weekend; connections would love to see him act like top kin Casino Host, a multiple Grade 2 winner on grass and near $600K earner; been knocking on the door.
In Rocky's Honor
Also ran only so far, must wake up; he was pinballed against the gate in last but is facing a number of familiar foes; not seeing it.
Doc Cebu
Clearly is better on grass and he could be on the muscle with the blinks today; the blood is there as kin Premeditation won on grass and half bro Real Dandy earned over a million; major player.
Crushed in only try at the level but he may have hated the mud that day and the 4/12 second horse graduated next out, took an N1X and was placed 2nd in the Curlin; 1 for 7 dam was 2nd in only turf out; lone sibling took one sprint, never turfed; could need softer to shine.
Brilliant Command
Steadily improved during racing of the debut but just could not hold when a tad short; dam was unraced; all 4 siblings won; top kin Nottingham Forest was a double winner on grass, banked over $100K; slight improvement and he will be a handful.
Mr. Jenney
He's flashed talent and should have his sea legs under him by now; dam won only start; all 3 siblings won including Mrs. Lindsay, who won multiple Group 1s on turf, banked over $1.2 million; due to start repaying that $600K purchase price.
Invincible Me
Educated in the off poorly debut but he at least got a feel of the course; 1 for 6 dam took a sprint, was out of the money in only turf out; several multiple race winners in the family including 4 that banked 6 figures but 4 sibs tried grass to no avail; got a feeling we have not seen the best of this one.
Grand Giant
Colt teased several times in California and Kentucky; the 5/25 race came back live and the show horse in last graduated next out in a maiden $50K claimer here with a 73 Beyer; should sit a nice stalk and pounce trip; due.
Marine Patrol
He shifted out three deep and although he looked professional, he bothered the horse that was eventually put up; show horse in last took a MSW, 4th finisher took a maiden $50K claimer and 8th finisher took a maiden $20K claimer next out; dam was unraced; lone half sis to race English Crossing took 3 of 15, banked over $100K, was turf only; clever barn due for a bit of luck.
King of Broadway
Sky Mesa about 13% with first-time turfers in a 208-runner sample; sire was unbeaten in 3 juvenile starts, took the G1 Hopeful, never turfed; stakes placed 2 for 7 dam earned over $50K, both wins came at 2, never turfed; all 3 sibs won; 2 won on grass including G2 placed turf winner and near $200K earner Character Builder; contention goes long.
Sampson County
Not disgraced by the Kentucky Derby winner last year and note place horse in the 2012 closer graduated next out, took a $100K stakes and was a troubled 4th in the Wood; there is no turf success in the tree; will be in the picture late if at all.
Seldom thrilled with runners in this league after repeated beats for a tag; show horse was over 3 clear; would rather see him offered for sale.
Town Extension
Runner has much more speed than he has flashed of late; check out when close up in the second start; nothing the siblings were stars; the hotter the pace the better for this runner.
Howie's Tiz
Maybe he was just a tad short in last; winner 6/8 repeated in the Grade 2 Dwyer, was third beaten over 3 in the Jim Dandy; soph has a shot to mature with grace as kin to triple stakes winner and over $450K earner Rush Now; needs to improve.
