A Classic Life wins Washington BC Oaks

AUBURN, Wash. - A Classic Life forged to the front on the second turn and drew out to score by six lengths over Gins Majesty in Saturday's $100,000 Washington Breeders' Cup Oaks at Emerald Downs. Gentle Flow was three lengths farther back in third, a nose ahead of 4-5 favorite Cee's Irish.

A Classic Life, a daughter of Sky Classic who races for Mike and Amy Feuerborn, got the 1 1/8 miles in 1:49.60 under Ricky Frazier and paid $6.60 as part of an entry with America's Girl. It was the third straight Washington Oaks victory for trainer Grant Forster, who has only been training for three years.

In 2-year-old stakes on Saturday, Cinderella Liberty won the $40,000 Knights Choice for fillies by 2 1/2 lengths in 1:17.80 for 6 1/2 furlongs, and Tom Two scored a 4 1/4 length victory in the $40,000 Strong Ruler for colts and geldings, getting the same distance in the same time as Cinderella Liberty.

Cinderella Liberty, who is trained by Bud Klokstad, paid $8.00 to win and the Eulia Bischoff-trained Tom Two returned $3.80 as the heavy choice.
