Cimply Done could go wire to wire

Cimply Done will be out to turn the tables on Flomont in the $110,000 Ruidoso Thoroughbred Sale Futurity at Ruidoso Downs on Sunday. The five-furlong race drew a field of 10 New Mexico-breds.

Flomont could go favored after using stalk-and-pounce tactics to win his trial for the race June 9. He defeated a field that included Cimply Done, the 3-5 favorite that afternoon, who finished third after setting a quick pace.

Cimply Done has a chance to wire his rivals Sunday, just as he did two starts ago when he won a Sunland Park allowance with a Beyer Figure of 63. The number is the highest career Beyer in the Ruidoso Futurity.

Trainer Weston Martin, who is winning at a 32 percent rate at Ruidoso, has given the mount on Cimply Done to Alfredo Juarez Jr. The horse will break from post 3, to the outside of the rail-drawn Flomont.

o Going Wild is the 121-pound highweight in the $50,000 Free Spirits Handicap for 3-year-olds and up at six furlongs. He last raced on May 11, finishing fifth in a $100,000 optional claimer at Churchill that was won by Indian Chant, who one start later captured the Grade 3 Aristides with a Beyer Figure of 106.
