Churchill Downs brings back DreamBet promotion for Kentucky Derby

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Churchill Downs and its broadcasting partners have announced the renewal of the popular Kentucky Derby DreamBet, which wound up being worth $900,000 to its first contestant two years ago.

The DreamBet contest will allow a person chosen at random to place a $100,000 win bet on the 138th Kentucky Derby at Churchill on May 5. In the first year of the contest in 2010, Glen Fullerton of Houston won $900,000 when placing his bet on Super Saver, who won at 8-1. Last year, Rico Flores of Chicago made the $100,000 bet on Mucho Macho Man, who finished third behind Animal Kingdom at 9-1.

Churchill is partnering with the NBC family of networks in the contest. United States residents 21 and older can enter online via Twitter or Facebook until 11:59 p.m. Eastern on April 14. Followers of CNBC on Twitter can send the following tweet to become eligible: “I want to win the @CNBC #derbydreambet.”

Besides the $100,000 bet, the person selected at random will win an expense-paid trip for two to Churchill for Derby weekend.
