Flat Out Works five furlongs under Greta Kuntzweiler on Saturday morning at Churchill Downs.

Flat Out had his first workout since his victory in the Oct. 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup when posting a bullet drill in 59.80 seconds Saturday morning over a fast track at Churchill Downs.

Greta Kuntzweiler was aboard Flat Out in the work, which was the fastest of 46 at the distance. Flat Out, owned by Preston Stables, figures to be one of the favorites when the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic is run Nov. 5 at Churchill.

The work came shortly after 7 a.m. Eastern on a cool morning at the Louisville, Ky., track, with clockers catching him in fractions of 12, 24, 35.80, and 47.60 seconds, with a six-furlong gallop-out time of 1:13.80.

“He cooled out and is doing great right now,” said trainer Scooter Dickey. “I hope we can keep him going.”
