Jesse Choper, a professor of public law at UC-Berkeley since 1991, has been reappointed to the California Horse Racing Board, according to a statement released Friday by the office of Gov. Jerry Brown.

Choper, 79, has been a member of the racing board since 2006. His reappointment is subject to approval of the state Senate. Aside from serving on the full racing board, Choper chairs the racing board’s legislative, legal and regulations committee.
