Southern California trainer Matthew Chew, who had been missing since late Monday when he went mountain biking in a canyon near Santa Anita, was found safe Tuesday by rescuers. According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, Chew was found at Cogswell Dam on the West Fork of the San Gabriel River, about 10 miles northeast of Santa Anita racetrack. The sheriff's department spokesperson said Chew was "disoriented" when he was found Tuesday.

Chew, 45, went for a ride early Monday at a popular biking and hiking trail in nearby Azusa Canyon. He was reported missing late Monday when he had not returned home. Details of Chew's condition were unavailable.
