Cherylville Slew takes Sangue Stakes

Bossier City, La. - Cherylville Slew ran her current win streak to three on Saturday afternoon, rallying strongly under clever handling by E. J. Perrodin to capture the Sangue Stakes. Outright Buck, who helped set much of the pace in the grassy seven and a half furlong headliner for fillies and mares, had to settle for second followed by favorite Due to Win Again.

Trained and owned by C. R. Trout, Cherylville Slew ($11.00) accounted for the Margarita Breeders' Cup in her last start before the Sangue and an allowance race at Lone start in the start before that. The 5-year-old mare has now won nine of her 29 career outs and Saturday's winner's share of $30,000 increased the daughter of Evansville Slew's bankroll to over $305,000.
