ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Charming Ruckus, rallying strongly in the stretch under regular rider Todd Kabel, was up in time for a one-length victory in the $169,250 Jammed Lovely here at Woodbine Sunday.

The Jammed Lovely, a seven-furlong race for Ontario-foaled 3-year-olds, was the first stakes win for Charming Ruckus, who races for Windways Farm and Quinn Stable and is trained by Malcolm Pierce. The feature was run amidst high winds which led to the cancellation of the balance of the card one race later.

"I felt I had the momentum turning for home, but when that gust hit me and knocked me sideways I thought we blew all our chances," said Kabel. "The filly dug in hard."

Simply Lovely, who stalked the pace in the Jammed Lovely, also finished well to be second, a head before River Nore, who cut out the early fractions of :22.51 and :44.95 and led by two lengths through six furlongs in 1:09.87.

Coastal Fortress was another neck back as the fourth-place finisher in the field of 10.

Charming Ruckus was clocked in 1:23:49 and returned $5.80 as the favorite. The exactor returned $29.00 and the triactor $108.50.

Charming Ruckus collected $100,350 to bring her career bankroll to $314,333 via a record of 4-4-2 from 15 outings.
