Awesome Feather, Jeffrey Sanchez up, wins the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies.

Awesome Feather, who improved to 6 for 6 by winning the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies for Jacks or Better Farm and trainer Stanley Gold, and was purchased by Frank Stronach’s Adena Springs Farm for $2.3 million at Fasig-Tipton’s November sale Sunday night, is to be trained by Chad Brown.

“She’s supposed to leave Kentucky today and arrive at Palm Meadows tomorrow,” Brown confirmed Tuesday afternoon. “I’ll talk to the Stronachs and try to map out a campaign with her; the new program with the Black-Eyed Susan is very appealing.”

In early September, Stronach’s MI Developments announced a bonus program tied to the Black-Eyed Susan, which will be run at Pimlico on May 20, 2011. To qualify for the full bonus of $2.2 million, a 3-year-old filly would have to win a series of races at tracks owned by MI Developments. One such route goes through Gulfstream Park with the Forward Gal (Jan. 29), Davona Dale (Feb. 26), and Gulfstream Oaks (April 2).

Awesome Feather’s sire is Awesome of Course, who is a son of Awesome Again, a Stronach homebred who won 9 of 12 starts including the 1998 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
