Cee's Elegance wins Cat's Cradle

INGLEWOOD, Calif. - Cee's Elegance broke an 11-race losing streak to win her first stakes in Sunday's $107,400 Cat's Cradle Handicap for California-bred fillies and mares at Hollywood Park.

Sent off at 5-1, Cee's Elegance had an ideal trip under jockey Victor Espinoza, a replacement for David Flores, who was late returning from a weekend in Japan.

Cee's Elegance ($13.40) chased pacesetter Hadl on the backstretch, took the lead on the turn and pulled clear to win by four lengths.

Trained by Doug O'Neill for Cees Stable, Cee's Elegance ran 7 1-2 furlongs in 1:29.32. A 5-year-old, Cee's Elegance has won 4 of 26 starts and $315,439.

Castling, the longest shot in field at 16-1, finished second, followed by Elaine's Angel. Super High, the 4-5 favorite who had won four stakes this year, never made her customary lead and finished fourth in the field of six.
