Catalog for CTHS British Columbia sale now online

Email

The catalog for the 2017 Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (British Columbia Division) yearling and mixed sale is now online, featuring 101 entries.

The auction will be held Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Thunderbird Show Park in Langley, British Columbia. A preview parade will take place Sept. 11.

Yearlings comprise all but one of the entries in this year’s sale, with the lone outlier being an unraced 2-year-old.

Buyers of British Columbia-bred yearlings at the sale will immediately receive a credit of $1,500 toward the purchase price of each horse. Buybacks are not eligible for the offer, but private sales by noon on the day following the sale do qualify.

To qualify for the incentive, buyers must commit to leaving the registration papers for their purchases in the Hastings Racecourse racing office for the entirety of the 2018 meet at the Vancouver-area track. Horses shipping to other jurisdictions for stakes races are granted release, under the condition that the registration papers return to Hastings immediately following the race. Owners may also buy out of the agreement by repaying the $1,500.

All yearlings who pass through the ring, regardless of the state or province where they were bred, are eligible for the CTHS (BC Division) Sales Stakes at Hastings in 2018.

Stallions whose first crops are represented with yearlings in the catalog include Can the Man, Fed Biz, Revolutionary, Shakin It Up, and Shrug. Entries were bred in British Columbia, California, Florida, Kentucky, Maryland, Ontario,
