Cash Included wins Oak Leaf

ARCADIA, Calif. - Less than a month after she switched barns, Cash Included earned a trip to the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies at Churchill Downs on Nov. 4 with an impressive win in Saturday's $250,000 at the Oak Tree at Santa Anita meeting.

Purchased privately in early September by Paul Reddam and turned over to Craig Dollase, Cash Included ($29.40) ran 1 1-16 miles in 1:42.86, easily beating 1-2 Point Ashley, the winner of the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante on Sept. 4. Cash Included was making her stakes debut.

Ridden by Corey Nakatani, Cash Included was always near the front. She stalked 40-1 Shes Got Skills through an early pace of 23.23 and 47.02 seconds before taking the lead at the end of the backstretch.

Cash Included, by Include, pulled away through the stretch to win by 4 3-4 lengths, improving her career record to two wins in three starts and earnings of $184,980. "It looks like she can route," Dollase said. "What a courageous filly she is."

Point Ashley was within a half-length of Cash Included on the final turn under jockey Victor Espinoza but could not sustain the threat.

"She wasn't aggressive," trainer Bob Baffert said. Victor "was surprised she ran second. She was into it. She didn't seem like herself."

Quick Little Miss, a 31-1 outsider, finished third in the field of 11 2-year-old fillies.
