Canterbury Park: Lakeville, Frosty Prince win

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - The $36,813 filly division of the Stallion Auction Stakes, won by Lakeville, featured 10 3-year-old runners in a wide-open heat. After favored Demiparfait broke a step slowly from the gate, Micro Tyme and Wa Sarah dueled for command into the turn, tracked by Lakeville, who had advanced from eighth, rallying four wide through the turn to join those foes in upper stretch. Lakeville steadily wore down the pacesetter, edging Wa Sarah by a neck. Lakeville completed the 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:18.04 under rider Paul Nolan. Wa Sarah finished second, a half length in front of Micro Tyme.

Lakeville ($10.40), is trained by Bruce Riecken.

Frosty Prince dominated his 11 3-year old rivals in the $37,745 colt and gelding division of the Stallion Auction Stakes, winning the 6 1/2-furlong contest by six lengths, completing the six furlongs in 1:17.63. Aran Narayan came through traffic to secure second,1 1/2 lengths clear of third-placed Lighting Jay.

Frosty Prince ($21.80) is campaigned by Canterbury Park co-owner Dale Schenian and is trained by Francisco Bravo.
