KISS THE KID was very game in seasonal debut as he worked hard every step of the way on the lead while racing off the rail. He dug in when challenged in the stretch, and just lost the show in the final strides. He may be the speed of the speed in the Fort Lauderdale, and the lightly-raced colt may finally be hitting his stride. He should offer plenty of value as well.
DEMETEOR makes the important third start of the form cycle, and is capable of a triple-digit Beyer Speed Figure on his best day. He may sit a nice stalking trip in the second flight, but the fact that he hasn't won since 2004 tempers the enthusiasm somewhat. Eclipse champion MIESQUE'S APPROVAL just missed in this race last year, and is obviously the horse to beat. He should get a great pace setup, but one has to wonder if he'll be 100% cranked for his seasonal debut. He's likely to be overbet.
JAMBALAYA may have bitten off a bit more than he could chew in the Grade 1 Canadian International over soft going, but the hard-hitting Canadian should fare better in this spot, and is another that should get pace to attack. He may rally at a price. HOST hasn't raced since the Dubai Duty Free, and it's possible that the Pletcher/Sciametta Jr. outfit is using this as a prep for another assault on Nad Al Sheba. Like Miesque's Approval, he may be an underlay.
