Canadian Hall of Famer Regan dies at 85

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Former Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association president and director Larry Regan died Wednesday morning at age 85.

Regan was active in the Canadian horse-racing industry as an owner and breeder since 1951. He sat on the board of the Ontario HBPA for 30 years, along with the Canadian HBPA board for 12 years.

In 1989, Regan was inducted into the Canadian Horse Racing Hall of Fame in the Thoroughbred Builder category and won the Sovereign Award as Man of the Year.
