Calumet Farm hires Charlie Boden

Charlie Boden has been named stallion season sales director and racing manager for historic Calumet Farm in Lexington, Ky.

Boden previously served as head of sales at Darley’s U.S. base at Jonabell Farm in Lexington, where he managed the careers of stallions including Bernardini, Street Cry, and Medaglia d’Oro over a nine-year tenure.

Brad Kelley purchased Calumet Farm in 2012, quickly expanded its stallion roster in Kentucky, and later sent stallions to stand in regional markets as property of Calumet. The operation also announced Thursday that three of those regional stallions would rejoin the Kentucky farm’s stallion roster for the upcoming breeding season: Aikenite, who stood at Bridlewood Farm in Florida, and Americain and Grey Swallow, who spent the season in Ireland.

“I am honored to be joining the team at Calumet,” Boden said. “Mr. Kelley’s passion for the sport is unrivaled. We have a tremendous facility and the resources to do some very exciting things here. "
