Buddha moving to Argentina

Buddha, winner of the 2002 Grade 1 Wood Memorial, has been sold privately and will relocate to Haras Dilu in Argentina, where he will stand as property of a syndicate.

Agent Ben Glass confirmed the sale, which was brokered through bloodstock agent Luis Bouza.

An 11-year-old by Unbridled's Song, Buddha won 3 of his 4 starts for earnings of $489,600. He launched his stud career at Hill 'n' Dale Farm in Lexington, Ky., then moved in 2008 to Pin Oak Lane Farm in New Freedom, Pa.

Buddha is the sire of five crops to race. His stakes winners include Hisse, who won stakes on dirt and turf and earned $290,161, Buddha Lady, Glorification, and Red Hot Buddha. He also is the sire of graded stakes-placed Lenaro and Peruvian Group 1-placed Kabu, and Jangjagang, Korea's champion imported juvenile filly in 2008.

Buddha is out of the unraced Storm Cat mare Cahooters and is a full brother to Grade 3-placed stakes winner Wild Hoots.
