Brownie Points wins Cimarron


Brownie Points became a stakes winner on Saturday night, when she rallied for a three length win over favorite Jazzy Okie in the $40,000 Cimarron at seven and a half furlongs on turf at Remington Park in Oklahoma City. It was another four lengths back in third to Sky Miles.

Brownie Points ($13) settled about six lengths behind pacesetter Mystical Moonlight, who led the field of 2-year-old fillies through fractions of 22.82 seconds for the opening quarter and 46.41 for the half-mile. Brownie Points overtook the leaders through the stretch, and covered the distance over firm turf in 1:29.84.

Curtis Kimes rode the winner for trainer Donnie Von Hemel, who also manages second-place finisher Jazzy Okie.

Brownie Points earned $24,000 for the win, her second in four starts. She has earned $40,540 and races for Pin Oak Stable.
