Turf sprint specialist Bridgetown is set to enter stud in New York.

Multiple Grade 3-winning turf sprint specialist Bridgetown will enter stud in 2014 at Questroyal North in Stillwater, N.Y., for an introductory fee of $4,500.

A 6-year-old Speightstown horse, Bridgetown won nine of 23 starts and placed nine times for overall earnings of $993,700. He captured seven stakes, highlighted by the Grade 3 Woodford Stakes and the Grade 3 Summer Stakes, the latter at a mile. He also finished second in the 2009 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf. Bridgetown last raced in the Grade 3 Parx Dash Handicap last July, finishing third. He raced for breeder Eugene Melnyk throughout his career and will stand at Questroyal North as property of a syndicate.

Florida-bred Bridgetown is out of the stakes-placed Tabasco Cat mare Ellesmere, who is also the dam of multiple stakes winners Carnacks Choice and Clement Rock. His second dam, the unraced Alydar mare Empress Aly, is a full sister to 1991 Kentucky Derby winner Strike the Gold.

Bridgetown will join Boys at Tosconova and Courageous Cat on Questroyal’s 2014 stallion roster.
