Brick Fight paid $85.40 on Saturday night when he upset the $125,000 Jim's Orbit division of the Texas Stallion Stakes at Sam Houston Race Park. He won by three and a half lengths over Gambling Wolfe. It was another head back in third to favorite Upstream. Brick Fight was prominent throughout, and covered the one-mile for 3-year-olds in 1:40.80. Quincy Hamilton rode the winner for trainer Danny Pish. Brick Fight races for John H. Silverthorne Ranch. The Jim's Orbit was restricted to the offspring of eligible stallions. In the $125,000 Two Altazano division of the series for 3-year-old fillies, Chit Chat Pam drew clear by two lengths over runner-up Kathy's Rocket. It was another three and a half lengths back in third to Valor Storm. Chit Chat Pam ($4.20) stalked pacesetter Kathy's Rocket through factions of 24.84 seconds for the opening quarter, 50.43 for the half-mile mark, and 1:15.92 for six furlongs. The eventual winner took over in the stretch, and covered the one-mile distance in 1:41.45. It was the second straight stakes win for Chit Chat Pam, who won her maiden in a stakes one start earlier. Filemon Rodriguez rode Chit Chat Pam in the Two Altazano for owner Ken Murphy and trainer Bob Young.
