Back on the maiden trail, we have a bunch of BreezeFigs races across the country on Saturday, but one really stands out for scrutiny: Calder Race Course, , Maiden Special, 6 Furlongs Six of the eight horses entered came out of 2-year-old sales last year, and there's a good mix of firsters and those that have already started. Of the ones that have started, Bankin Cash is the one that looks most intriguing. He comes out of a mile race at Gulfstream where he flashed speed and tired. Backing up to six furlongs today, he shows good works and was a Group 1 at four over Par at a very good sale last year. We like him to mix it up with fast-working Cape Haze, who comes out of a good OBSMAR sale with two , including a Group 1, four over Par number. He also has a Group 3 one under Par BreezeFig at that sale, equal to that of Mutate, who was RNA at the same sale and finished ahead of Bankin Cash in his last race and went well in his first start at a sprint distance. Coastal Empire and Mr. Pike were both Group 2, four over Par at a weaker sale, and Mr. Pike hasn't hit the board yet. Coastal Empire, a firster, might be worth a look for the gimmicks. Roman Legacy, a Group 2, one under Par RNA at a weak sale might need a little more distance. We'd key in on Bankin Cash and Cape Haze--watch the board.
