BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, Saturday, March 17th

We gave you two Pix last week and each came in as a good gimmick payoff, so we'll try to go to the wall again with another couple for St. Patrick's Day. For those DRF-Plus Members who are new to the BreezeFigs handicapping service, please take advantage of all the tips that we provide--you can get a good idea by clicking on BreezeFigs Information underneath the two BreezeFigs links in the DRF-PLUS box in the right hand column on the home page and downloading files there. Good luck!

Hawthorne, , Maiden Special Weight, 6 Furlongs

We've been waiting for Silverbdancing to come out of the woodwork because this Silver Charm colt posted one of the best Group 1 BreezeFigs at last year's OBSMAR sale at 1/8 mile with a stride length of nearly a foot longer than average, and also posted a knockout Group 2 Fig at 1/4 mile with a stride length of over 25 feet. He comes from a clever outfit and may be a short price, but this one is worth the bet.

Santa Anita, , Maiden Claiming ($80k to 70k), 6 Furlongs

There are four BreezeFigs horses in this contentious event, including Crafty Role, a logical choice who's making her fourth start but has been there or thereabouts in her previous outings. She comes out of the weak OBSJUN sale and has been running to that Group 1 form where she displayed an average stride length. However, we are willing to look more closely at She's Sensational, a Group 2 filly out of the classier BARMAR sale where she showed a high turn of speed and a nearly 25-foot stride length. She threw in a desultory debut effort, but we're willing to forgive that at a price. Don't overlook possible gimmick plays in fiirster Sindy With an S, who was right on Par and near stride-length average in her OBSAPR breeze, and Steelin', who shows a relatively weak four-under Par BreezeFig at BARMAR, but at that sale last year that was not bad at all--and she showed well in her debut. Interesting bunch.
