There are plenty of opportunities to make a return this weekend in both 2-y-o and 3-y-o maiden races, but we're focusing on two, one for each crop, on opposite coasts. Belmont Park, , Maiden Special, 5 1/2 Furlongs Trip to the Bank is cross-entered in the third at Monmouth on Friday, probably because of the weather forecasts. He's a good bet in either race because he had a really nice 24.5 foot stride length when he stretched out to earn a Group 1 BreezeFig at 1/4 mile at OBSFEB. He's got one under his belt, coming out of a key race won by monster Out of Gwedda who had a similar figs across the board at OBSMAR. Hollywood Park, , Maiden Claiming, 7 Furlongs My Star Bucks may be an overlay here. Obviously had his problems after a stellar nine over Par Group 2 BreezeFig at OBSMAR last year, but he ought to benefit from a slight stretch out, different surface, and drop down the scale. He was a little under the average for that sale on stride length, but his other internal numbers looked good and is defintely a gimmick play here. Watch the board.
