BreezeFigs Quick-Pix, Saturday, July 7th

There were nine maiden races and one stakes for 2-Y-Os across the country on the Fourth of July that had BreezeFigs horses among the starters. Five of those races were won by BreezeFigs horses, including the Hollywood Juvenile winner Salute the Sarge ($15.20), who had a longer than average stride length in his breeze at BARMAR this year. Remember, keep stride length (SL) in mind when handicapping from the BreezeFigs sheet and take advantage of all the tips that we provide--you can get a good idea by clicking on BreezeFigs Information underneath the two BreezeFigs links in the DRF-PLUS box in the right hand column on the home page and downloading files there.

There are nine maiden and two stakes races for 2-Y-Os on Saturday's BreezeFigs card. Here an intriguing play:

Calder, , Maiden Special, 5 1/2 Furlongs

Tough and possible key filly maiden here with BreezeFigs horse Wise Cookie and homebred At First Glance coming out of a hot race. Wise Cookie is worth a shot in the gimmicks, based on her form and her good Group 2, one-over-Par BreezeFig at OBSAPR. But the one to look for is Jennifer's Storm, who makes her debut for aclever outfit off a four-over-Par BreezeFig at the very good BARMAR sale this year. She showed a slightly under-average stride length in that breeze, but it was slightly longer than that posted by Wise Cookie at OBSAPR. Jenneifer's Storm looks like a good gimmick and possible straight play here.
