from the 2YO sales of 2006. Aqueduct, , Maiden Special, 6 Furlongs They may go off as favorites, but on BreezeFigs first-timer Jimmy G and second-timer Pass the Punch look pretty tasty. Jimmy G was Group 1 four-over-Par at the classy FTFFEB sale, showing a 24.26 foot stride length (SL) -- and he was an RNA, so the PP's only show his yearling sale price. Pass the Punch was a Group 1, six-over-Par at OBSMAR with a SL that was more than a foot shorter, but he has experience and will be tough. Use them both whatever way you wish. Gulfstream Park, , Maiden Special, 7 Furlongs There are four BreezeFigs horses here, three of which are Group 2 horses with good numbers, two of them firsters. Stalwart Woodsman turned in a huge effort at KEEAPR with a nearly 26-foot SL (two feet longer than the average that day), and was an RNA as well (though at 47K at this sale, there may have been a physical problem). Even though that work was on the turf, he looked classy enough to compete here. Fort Apache Star was an even-Par horse at OBSFEB with a 24-foot SL, and he looks equally good to us on paper. Backlash had trouble in his debut, and even though he comes out of the weaker OBSJUN sale, he was three-over Par with a 24-foot SL, good in any bettor's book. These three need to be looked at closely for your straight and gimmick plays.
