ARCADIA, Calif. - Bob Baffert and Steve Asmussen, whose runners dominated the Breeders' Cup work tab at Santa Anita on Sunday, were back for more on Monday morning, with such big names as Contested, Fed Biz, and Unbridled's Note putting in their next-to-last works on a fast main track for upcoming Breeders' Cup races.
Contested, who is heading to the Filly and Mare Sprint, sped five furlongs in 59 seconds, the second-fastest time of 50 at the distance on Monday.
Fed Biz went a half-mile in 48 seconds in preparation for the Dirt Mile. Baffert said Joe Talamo would have the mount.
Baffert also worked, in company, the pair of Power Broker and Title Contender, both of whom are heading to the Juvenile. They each received a time of 1:12.80 for six furlongs.
Asmussen sent out Justin Phillip, who is headed to the Sprint, and Unbridled's Note, a top contender in the Turf Sprint, for solo, five-furlong works. Both were timed in 1:00.80.
At Betfair Hollywood Park, Mr. Commons worked six furlongs on Cushion Track in 1:13 for trainer John Shirreffs in preparation for the Mile on turf.

watch out for Justin Philip. Last impossibly wide on inside bias and was not extended. A very solid fit.

On the heels of a super-fast performance at Aqueduct, BIG SCREEN was close to a blistering pace in a strong renewal of the Westchester and stayed in contention to the stretch; only loss in allowance company this year was a second to Cigar Street, who subsequently won a Grade 3. SUMMER SUNSET has posted exacta finishes seven of eight starts since claimed last spring; reliable gelding faster than ever at age 4.
