Breeders' Cup names Hagyard as partner

The Breeders' Cup has announced that Hagyard Equine Medical Institute of Lexington, Ky., has been named an official partner of the Breeders' Cup World Championships, in the Equine First Response Unit category.

The 2015 Breeders' Cup will be held Oct. 30 and 31 at Keeneland, in Lexington. Hagyard is located nearby, virtually adjacent to the Kentucky Horse Park.

As part of the agreement, Hagyard will provide and administer the Equine Trauma Unit ambulance with expert personnel on-site during Breeders’ Cup morning workouts from Oct. 26 through Oct. 31, and will provide the ambulance and Equine Trauma Unit during live racing, Oct. 29, 30, and 31. Hagyard will also administer all blood sampling and temperature readings of all international Breeders' Cup participants.

In addition, Hagyard will be the name-in-title of the shuttle service which will transport the horsemen and international guests from the Breeders’ Cup stable area on Rice Road to the front side racetrack locations of the Keeneland Racing Office and to the Breeders’ Cup Trackside Breakfast Marquee.

“Hagyard has established a prominent position in our industry as a leader and innovator in equine first response,” said Craig Fravel, Breeders’ Cup President and CEO. “We greatly value the safety and security protocols established for this year’s Championships and are pleased that Hagyard has joined us in those initiatives.”
