Hard Not to Like, trained by Gail Cox and ridden by Patrick Husbands, wins the Cup and Saucer.

ETOBICOKE, Ontario - Hard Not to Like, who is heading to next Friday's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Churchill Downs, breezed five furlongs in 1:01.80 on the main track at Woodbine on Friday morning.

With jockey Alex Gonzalez in the irons, Hard Not to Like was clocked in 36.80 seconds for her first three furlongs and galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.80.

"She broke off easy, and finished well," said Gail Cox, who trains Hard Not to Like for owner/breeder Garland Williamson. "It was just a perfect breeze."

Hard Not to Like, who defeated males in winning the Cup and Saucer Stakes over 1 1/16 miles on soft turf at Woodbine on Oct. 15, will be ridden by Mike Smith in the Juvenile Fillies.

"She'll go down morning, gallop over the track a couple of days, and then run," said Cox.

Ruler On Ice looks ready

Trainer Kelly Breen pronounced Ruler On Ice "ready to go" for the Classic after watching the Belmont Stakes winner work a half mile in the mud in 47.80 seconds in company with stablemate Nacho Friend at Monmouth Park on Friday.

"I had Elvis Trujillo work Ruler On Ice and he said he had his hands full and that he's sitting on go," said Breen. "I wanted him to go in 49 over the wet track, but Elvis said he had trouble keeping him tucked down."
Ruler On Ice is scheduled to arrive at Churchill on Sunday evening.
