On Saturday, Dank makes her first start since this victory in the Grade 1 Beverly D. at Arlington on Aug. 17.

ARCADIA, Calif. – Dank was the final name drawn among 10 fillies and mares entered Monday at Santa Anita for the $2 million Breeders’ Cup Filly & Mare Turf, which will be run Saturday. She will be first in the hearts of many bettors.

Dank, a European-based filly trained by Michael Stoute, drew post 1 and is expected to start favored in the 1 1/4-mile race, which will be her first start since Aug. 17 when she won the Grade 1 Beverly D. at Arlington by more than four lengths.

There were no surprises at the draw. East Coast-based Laughing, who ships to California on Tuesday, drew post 7 and is expected to set the pace under Jose Lezcano. Laughing has won all four of her starts this year, including the Grade 1, 1 1/4-mile Flower Bowl on Sept. 28 at Belmont.

While the possibility of a slow tempo favors the field’s only front-runner, Laughing must carry her speed over a deep group that includes the top female turf runners in California – Tiz Flirtatious and Marketing Mix

Post position is not a significant factor in 1 1/4-mile turf races at Santa Anita, though Tiz Flirtatious’s owner, Pam Ziebarth, was happy with post 4. “We like it,” she said. “The only post (trainer Marty Jones) did not want was post 1.”

Tiz Flirtatious has won 4 of 5 this year, including the Grade 1, 1 1/4-mile Rodeo Drive at Santa Anita on Sept. 28. She won by a head over Marketing Mix.

The F&M Turf will be race 5 on Saturday; post time 12:43 Pacific.

Laughing reminds me of Little Mike from 2012 A front runner who couldnt possibly get a The distance in Woodford and Bc Turf went off at 15-1 lulled them to sleep and ran off with the win. She hasn't been pushed yet 25 and 50 ,Ill bet she gives Tiz and Mix a run for their money. Laughing all the way to the bank

That is a good comparison. Pace makes the race. She gets right pace she might.get it. But I like marketing mix here. Kittens dumpling at a price

Tiz Flirtatious in an all out stretch long slug-fest between her, Dank and Marketing Mix. Laughing won't hit the board.

Ya gotta love Laughing, the over-achiever, even if you haven't 'ridden' her.

You could do worse. Marketing Mix is top class. You can toss the Beverly D. fiasco. We all know the real Marketing Mix did not show up for some unknown reason. I still like Tiz Flirtatious. Marty Jones spaces her races perfectly and she fires every time. She loves this course and beat MM on the square last out. I'll be 4 deep here in the pick 4 though.

The real Marketing Mix did show up in the Beverly D. She just ran into some better Euros in Dank and Gifted Girl. It's really remarkable how consistent Marketing Mix is in terms of figures. She almost always runs in the 96-98 range, which is fine, but that isn't going to get it done this year. It's a mistake to assume that her Beverly D is a "toss" or a "fiasco". She ran the same race she always does, and it was good enough for 4th. Not hating on her, just stating facts.

Did your friend bet the farm on Monopolist? Tough distance to debut at. You have to be really special or pick up a weak field. He might be worth a play next time.
