The 2.6 rating for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, which featured the final performance by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, was up 53 percent compared with the rating for the Breeders’ Cup Classic last year.

The final hour of the three-hour Breeders’ Cup telecast on NBC received a 2.6 household rating and a 6 share, according to NBC, the highest rating for any portion of a Breeders’ Cup telecast since 1995.

The 2.6 rating for the Breeders’ Cup Classic, which featured the final performance by Triple Crown winner American Pharoah, was up 53 percent compared with the rating for the Breeders’ Cup Classic last year. The Classic this year went off at approximately 6 p.m. Eastern, whereas last year’s Classic went off in prime time.

Share is a measure of the percentage of televisions in use that were tuned in to a program, so approximately 1 in 17 televisions were tuned in to the Classic.

NBC said that its metrics indicated that 4.6 million people tuned in to NBC during the Classic. Last year, the network estimated that 3.3 million people watched the race, which featured California Chrome.

The broadcast of the 1995 Breeders’ Cup Classic, which featured Cigar, received a 2.8 rating and a 9 share, NBC said.

While this is great for nbc it does nothing for racing. If those 4.6 million bet regularly then yes it would help. But most of them will learn about the integrity issues the sport has and be put off.

Start working at home with Google! It’s by-far the best job I’ve had. Last Wednesday I got a brand new BMW since getting a check for $6474 this - 4 weeks past. I began this 8-months ago and immediately was bringing home at least $100 per hour. I work through this link œ►œ►œ►►►œ► www.workbuzz60.com

this horse, AP, should be in the top 10 greatest horses of all time. JMO the journey he went through this past year is without question, one of the greatest things Ive seen in this game in a very long time!

Watch out in 2016. The ratings will be much less for all these races. I hope the NYRA does not project in their projections to have another triple crown attempt for 3 straight years. It can happen but chances are that it won't.

All we need is a hero. Now AF is gone hope there is another hero in the woods.

You meant AP. A hero isn't what's needed. A throwback to the days where colts ran more than 40 times at an elite level. Despite stud fees going down and insurance rates going up that's unlikely to happen. There were several near misses and even most of them retired early. Sad but the truth is having guys like Zayat spend millions a year and barely break even. The Pletchers and Bafferts get 20 million in horses yearly and barely break even. Yet they're considered Heros. Have a nice evening.
