Game On Dude, with Martin Garcia up, works six furlongs in 1:12.20 on Tuesday at Santa Anita.

Game On Dude on Tuesday turned up the intensity of his preparation for the $5 million Breeders’ Cup Classic on Nov.  2 when working a sharp six furlongs in company at Santa Anita.

Game On Dude was given an official time of 1:12.20 for six furlongs, and his trainer, Bob Baffert, had him going out seven furlongs in “1:25 and change.” He will have two more works prior to the Classic, in which he is expected to be favored.

“Everything went great,” Baffert said. “He was sharp. He’s on schedule.”

Martin Garcia, who regularly works Game On Dude, was up for the drill, but Mike Smith will have the mount in the Classic. Garcia is scheduled to ride Baffert’s other Classic contender, Paynter.

With Mike Smith up Game on Dude will be tough! Remember when Smith gunned Royal Delta to the lead and won going away? Same scenario here folks. GO MIKE GO!!!

I wish Dude well but, it seems like he always finds a way to lose the BC races!

What do want from a savant. Obviously had the Dude last year and not his biggest fan. Hard to bet against HOY this year. FL is not same animal from LY and 3 yr olds are no big deal.

Don't like the extended training time and the jockey change. Last year's race is still stuck in alot of people's craw. Could be a great backwheel in case of a shocker. So many recent upsets have knocked potential singles to a very chosen few. Handicap division has been weak last couple of years and needs new blood. Don't think a 3 yr old is up for the challenge, but maybe PM can get a 3rd or 4th. Definitely HOY, still a nice trophy.

I hope none of Bob horses win on BCD, this guy has no class.

They usually don't. His BC record is abysmal. 0 for 8 last year?

Sorry Baffert fans for pointing out a fact. Anyone clicking the thumbs down that would like to prove that wrong, by all means have at it.

+1

Baffert fans hate that fact, and offer nothing to the contrary.

Lots of trainers entered horses and did not win last year. For whatever the reason. Everyone has a theory. But to make a personal attack and say he has no class is ignorant at best.
Horse Cents More than 1 year ago
I didn't make a personal attack. I stated a fact. He has only ever won with juveniles and sprints. And I do have a theory, which is why I drew a line threw all his starters last year. This year may be different. The reality is, his BC record is in fact abysmal.

Comments like that only indicate that neither do you.

I agree with you. As long as he shows a couple nice works before the Classic he's my play. Never was a big fan of his but I really liked his last race a lot.

I may be late for the funeral. Loved him in last year's BCC and he tried mightily to undo the conveyor belt, so I'm not touching him this year.

No 6yo or older has ever won the Classic. Stats like that tend to hold up. Hopefully it's wrong because GOD deserves to be HOY. The play here is the "other Baffert" horse. Maybe Paynter and GOD will run 1-2.

HOY means zilch Dude is a gelding as is Wise Dan. Connections are in the business of making a profit. HOY means a trophy to them.

How many horses 6 or older have run in the Classic and what were their odds?

Game on Dude jogs....he always runs a monster race fresh and Bob knows it that's why he has decided to wait...good luck trying to beat him and enjoy throwing your losing tickets in the trash if you do:)
