Downbytheseaside won as the favorite, and then Rock N Tony pulled a 28-1 surprise in the two $25,000 Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt Pace eliminations on Saturday night at Hoosier Park. With Brian Sears handling the driving, Downbytheseaside left from the outside post eight to get the lead at the 27 3/5 opening quarter.  Sears was then able to steal a major breather in the second quarter, getting to the half in just 57 seconds.  Downbytheseaside picked up the tempo from there, clicking off three-quarters in 1:24 3/5, and then he sprinted home in 26 3/5 to defeat pocket-sitting Boogie Shuffle (David Miller) by a length in a 1:51 1/5 performance.  Photobombr Hanover (Tim Tetrick) kicked out a 25 3/5 final panel to get up for third, and he was followed by Miso Fast (Matt Kakaley) and Ocean Colony (Mark MacDonald). "When you're down to the half in 57 with these horses, you're supposed to get home, but he was down to the half in 57 last week and didn't," said victorious trainer Brian Brown.  "We think we got it figured out.  He had a high liver enzyme, and we're working on it.  Good old cranberry juice has been helping the horse.  I think we've got him on the right track.  Brian (Sears) was much happier, and that makes me feel a lot better." The winner is a Somebeachsomewhere colt trained by Brown for owners Country Club Acres Inc., Joe Sbrocco, Richard Lombardo, and Diamond Creek Racing.  This was Downbytheseaside's 18th victory in his 30th try, and he has now banked $1,661,841.  Dispatched at even-money, he paid $4.00 to win. After the first elimination went as expected, it was nothing but fireworks in the other elimination.  Blood Line (MacDonald), a 40-1 shot, was on top through stations of 27, 55 4/5, and 1:22 3/5 with Rock N Tony (Trace Tetrick), who won last week's Indiana Sires Stakes Super Final, riding in the pocket.  3-5 choice Fear The Dragon (D. Miller) looked to be in position for a third-over trip behind Mac's Jackpot (Aaron Merriman) and Funknwaffles (Corey Callahan), but he gapped as soon as he pulled, putting Little Brown Jug winner Filibuster Hanover (Yannick Gingras) in traffic trouble from fourth-over. In the stretch Rock N Tony came through the passing lane, and he out-paced Blood Line to the wire, winning by a length in 1:50 2/5.  Beckhams Z Tam (Ricky Macomber Jr.) zipped a 26 second final kicker to join the winner as Indiana-sired horses to make the final, and Mac's Jackpot and Funknwaffles also advanced.  Filibuster Hanover could not overcome his excessive cover woes and wound up sixth, and Fear The Dragon was pace-less in the final stanza, ending up eighth. "I expected him to race good; that's why we put him in there off of last week's race," explained Erv Miller, the winning trainer.  "It seemed like he was back from the sickness that plagued him about a month ago.  He's definitely headed in the right direction." A Rockin Image gelding, Rock N Tony is trained by Miller for owners Anthony Lombardi and Rocco Ruffolo.  Rock N Tony made his 13th career appearance in the winner's circle, and he has now stashed away $487,812.  Rock N Tony returned $58.00 to win. The post positions for the Breeders Crown 3-Year-Old Colt Pace final will be drawn at a press conference on Monday.
