Brahms Haze seeks repeat in Aspen

Brahms Haze will have to turn the tables on a sharp Edlos Twist to defend his title in the $25,000 Aspen at Arapahoe Park. A six-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up, the field is restricted to horses bred in Colorado.

Brahms Haze was a three-quarter-length winner of last year's Aspen. He comes into the 2009 running off a fourth-place finish to Edlos Twist in a statebred allowance June 6. The race was the second straight win for Edlos Twist. Brahms Haze did not get the break from his rail post in the allowance and might benefit Sunday from drawing post 9.
