Boyce named sales director at Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana

Tim Boyce has been named sales director of the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana, the subsidiary of the Louisiana Thoroughbred Breeders Association announced. Boyce joins the organization after serving as the Fasig-Tipton Texas sales director for 19 years. Fasig-Tipton recently closed its operation in Texas.

Boyce’s first order of business will be preparing for the Sept. 29 yearling sale to be held at the Ike Hamilton Expo Center in West Monroe, La. The sale has been conducted since 1988.

“We want to build upon what we have in place, and we believe we have the man to do just that,” Brett Brinkman, president of the Breeders Sales Company of Louisiana, said in a press release. “Tim has a lot of experience at doing what we are asking him to do – that is, to produce a quality, well-managed sale.”

Entries to the sale close June 15. All of the Louisiana-breds that go through the ring are eligible for one of two sales stakes in 2017, the Elge Rasberry Memorial or the A.L. “Red” Erwin Memorial. The races are traditionally run at Louisiana Downs.

◗ Nominations to the Texas Thoroughbred Association yearling sale Aug. 24 at Lone Star Park will close June 10. It is being conducted by Western Bloodstock.
