Boston Twist sells for $190k

As of 4 p.m. on Monday, a $190,000 Boston Harbor filly was the top seller at the opening session of Fasig-Tipton's May Midlantic 2-year-old sale in Timonium, Md.

Ciaran Dunne, agent, signed for the filly. Currently named Boston Twist, she is a bay daughter of Chou Chou (Premiership), who also produced stakes-winner Keep It Strait. Leprechaun Racing, agent, sold the filly. Boston Twist has sold publicly twice before, first as a $110,000 Keeneland January yearling, where Blackwater Investments purchased her, and then as a $150,000 Keeneland July yearling. Leprechaun Racing, agent, was listed as buyer at the Keeneland auction.

The most expensive colt as of 4 p.m. was Hip No. 110, a $180,000 Unbridled's Song colt that J. Cary Findlay bought from Robert Scanlon, agent. He is out of the Grade 3-winning Spend a Buck mare Cheerful Spree. A New York-bred, he is a half-brother to winners Era Hurricane and Hard Held. The Unbridled's Song colt, currently named Straphanger, sold at Keeneland's September yearling sale last year for $145,000 to Bobby and Leslie Hurley.

The sale was scheduled to continue Tuesday.
