Bonus Pack cruises by two

Bonus Pack, claimed three starts back by owner Robert Bone and trainer Greg Foley, returned a nice dividend Saturday by winning the $50,000 Dust Commander Stakes at Turfway Park in Florence, Ky.

Ridden by Turfway's leading jockey, Dean Sarvis, Bonus Pack drew abreast of early leader Sterling Gold at the quarter pole before edging clear to prevail by two lengths over Paging. The winner returned $6.40 as second choice in a field of seven older horses.

Paging, coupled with Ask the Lord, was part of a Bernie Flint-trained entry that went off the 6-5 favorite. The heavy morning-line favorite, Private Horde, was an early scratch.

Bonus Pack, claimed for $80,000 in November at Churchill Downs, earned $31,300 with the win. A 7-year-old Colonial Affair gelding, Bonus Pack finished one mile in 1:38.93 over a fast track and has now won nine of 40 starts.

* Veteran jockey Dean Butler will be out of action several months after suffering multiple fractures in his left leg. His mount, Bugatti's Booty, broke down badly in the last race Friday night and Butler was thrown.
