Bombs away in Pago Hop

EmailIt was bombs away in the $60,000 Pago Hop as late-closing 25-1 shot Autobahn Girl won by a neck over the faster-closing 10-1 Our Dancing Babe, with 10-1 Beautiful Venue another neck back in third, and 16-1 Eight Eighty Eight finishing fourth.

Autobahn Girl, ridden by Joseph Patin Jr. for trainer Malcolm Pierce and owner Live Oak Plantation, ran the about one-mile distance in 1:38.68 over firm turf and paid $61.80.

Winsome Ways, the Bill Mott-trained 2-1 favorite in a field of 12, was never in contention and finished eighth.

The $2 exacta paid $651.40, the trifecta $10,418.40, and the superfecta $37,924, or $1,896.20 for a dime.
