Bold World romps at Ocala

OCALA, Fla. - Bold World toyed with a field of six rivals in the six-furlong $50,000 Ocala Breeders' Sale Sprint Stakes for 3-year-old fillies on a non-betting program at the Ocala Training Center on Monday.

Bold World raced alongside Stacy's Toy and Sea Span before jockey Jorge Chavez let her run, and then it was just a question of the winning margin. She won by 10 1/2 lengths in 1:09.80. Sea Span finished second.

In the colts and geldings division of the Sprint, Royal Lad set the pace, relinquished it briefly at the three-sixteenths pole, and then came back to draw away by three lengths in 1:09.60 over Warners.

The filly division of the $100,000 OBS Championship Stakes, at 1 1/16 miles, turned out to be a two-horse race. Bronze Autumn took with Salem Willow in pursuit. The two raced together down the stretch with Bronze Autumn prevailing by a neck. Time for the 1 1/16 miles was 1:46.80.

Mountain Forum was a half-length winner of the $100,000 Championship Stakes for colts and geldings over Quest Star in 1:46.60.
