Bold World right back to win

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. - Bold World pulled off the rare feat of winning two stakes races within a five-day period when she jogged home an easy 6 1/4-length winner of Friday's $76,387 Charon Stakes at Gulfstream Park. Bold World, a 3-year-old, won the filly division of the Ocala Breeders' Sale Stakes on Monday.

Jockey Jorge Chavez guided Bold World to victory from just off the pace and had her well in hand through the stretch. Miss Dixie Chick easily finished second, followed by Afnan and Awol. Only four fillies contested the Charon after Passionate Bird scratched earlier in the day.

Bold World paid $2.40 after covering seven furlongs in 1:23.78 over a fast track.

"I never second-guessed myself about running her back so soon," said her trainer, Ron Taylor. "She ate good after she won at Ocala and her blood chemistry was good when I got it back Wednesday. I'll give her a rest now and run her back in the Beaumont Stakes at Keeneland."

The Grade 2, $250,000 Beaumont will be run at about seven furlongs on April 26.
