Bob Lee, former commissioner, dead

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. - Bob Lee, a well-known restaurateur and former member of the New York State Racing Commission, died Sunday at his home in Wilton, N.Y., after a long illness. He was 72.

Lee owned and operated the Wishing Well restaurant in Saratoga Springs since 1968. The Wishing Well has been among the favorite dining establishments for racing figures from around the world on their annual visits to Saratoga for the past 35 summers.

Lee, an avid golfer, was a member of both the McGregor Links and Glens Falls Country Club and was also a member of the Skeeters, a fraternal club of horse racing and sports enthusiasts.

Lee is survived by his wife, Brenda, sons Dean and Bob Jr. and daughters Susan and Jennifer.

A viewing will be held Wednesday from 3 to 8 p.m. at St. Clement's Church, 231 Lake Ave., in Saratoga Springs. A funeral service will be held at St. Clement's on Thursday at 9:30 a.m.
