Bob and John moves to Highcliff in New York

Grade 1 winner Bob and John will stand at Highcliff Stallions at Mill Creek in Stillwater, N.Y., for the 2013 breeding season, with a fee to be announced. The 2006 Wood Memorial Stakes winner will continue to stand as a partnership between Magnolia Racing and Pin Oak Stud and will join fellow Magnolia Stable stallion Congaree at the New York farm located near Saratoga Springs.

Bob and John, a 9-year-old by Seeking the Gold, stood at Pin Oak Stud in Versailles, Ky., in 2012 for a fee of $7,500. He ranks 17th on the North American second-crop sire list with progeny earnings of nearly $1.5 million. His top runners this year include 3-year-old stakes winners Lady Jensen and Lady Candidate.

“Being the winner of such a signature Kentucky Derby prep as the Wood Memorial, we feel that Bob and John will quickly be recognized by New York breeders as a serious opportunity,” Pin Oak Stud manager Clifford Berry said. “Bob and John has sired several significant winners at Saratoga, Belmont, and Aqueduct, as well as other top tracks across the country, and his runners perform well on all surfaces.”

Bob and John won five of 14 starts and earned $996,330, taking two Grade 3 stakes in addition to the Wood Memorial. He is out of the Grade 3-winning Deputy Minister mare Minister’s Melody.
