ETOBICOKE, Ontario - A Bit O Gold ($5.20) overtook even-money favorite Revved Up in deep stretch to capture the $329,300 Sky Classic Handicap at Woodbine Sunday.

Jockey Jono Jones had A Bit O'Gold saving ground in a stalking position on the backstretch of the mile and three-eighth turf event, as Demeteor set slow fractions, while being pressed by Revved Up and Colorful Judgement.

Revved Up took control at the top of the stretch, but A Bit O'Gold wore him down after angling wide on the far turn, and prevailed by a neck. The final time was 2:17.17 seconds.

Lenny the Lender rallied inside the top two, finishing a half-length back of Revved Up in third in the seven-horse field. His rider, Daniel David, claimed foul against A Bit O'Gold for interference on the clubhouse turn, but the result stood.

Said Jones: "The beginning of the (far) turn, (the course) was a little chewed up on the inside. When I got him out in the middle of the track, he got his footing together, and did his job from there."

A Bit O'Gold, trained by Catherine Day Phillips for The Two Bit Racing Stable, earned $197,100 in the Grade 2 event.
