Big three qualify at Golden Gate

Tchazdar Milanov, Karl Bracy and Nancy Freeman will represent Golden Gate Fields at the DRF/NTRA National Handicapping Tournament.

Milanov, of Concord, CA, won the competition at the track's spring meeting, winning $5,000 as he accumulated 1,164 points, based on win prices on horses over the three rounds of competition.

Bracy, of Vallejo, CA, was the fall meeting champion with 882 points. He earned $3,000 for winning the contest.

Freeman, of Richmond, CA, was a runner-up in the fall competition with 820 points to qualify as Golden Gate Fields' third representative in the national tournament.

The track decided that the fall meeting runner-up would be its representative rather than the spring runner-up because the fall meeting was closer in time to the national competition.

Contestants played mythical $20 win bets on six races in each round. The person with the highest combined point total was the winner.
