Bickersons sharpens for Davona Dale

Trainer Kelly Breen said Bickersons is right on target for Saturday's Grade 2 Davona Dale. Bickersons, who dominated the seven-furlong Old Hat here last month, worked a half-mile in 48.20 seconds at Palm Meadows on Sunday.

"She worked fabulous," said Breen. "The track was dead but she finished great, looks good and is right on schedule for Saturday."

The Davona Dale is coming up one of the best races with the meet with Bickersons topping a field that is also expected to include Amen Hallelujah, Sassy Image, Joanie's Catch, and Christine Daae.

* Jockey Rajiv Maragh continues to be frustrated trying to reach the milestone of 1,000 career victories. Maragh did not win a race here last week after posting his 999th winner aboard trainer Tom Albertrani's top 3-year-old prospect Odysseus last Wednesday at Tampa Bay Downs.

* Edgar Prado and Alan Garcia were the riding stars here last week. Garcia posted a hat trick on Friday and added three more victories on Saturday and Sunday. Prado notched a three-bagger of his own on Saturday that included a victory aboard D' Funnybone in the Grade 2 Hutcheson.
